Thank you

16″ x 20″ Collage

As the year comes to a close, I wanted to send a holiday greeting and a big “Thank You” to all. I’m filled with gratitude and joy from all of you. Whether we met in a class or you purchased my art in some form, I am so grateful that our paths have crossed.

I’ve had so much fun teaching classes, getting to know you, and watching you grow as you create art. I’m thrilled when students grow and go beyond what they thought they could. As a teacher, I love seeing students enjoy making art.

As I look forward to the new year, I’m inspired by some of my fellow artists and how they reflect on the past year and what they would like to see into the new year.

The first artist I wanted to talk about is Anne Butera at My Giant Strawberry. I found Anne through another friend and mentor, Laura Bray. Anne teaches watercolor and many other classes on Skillshare. Check her out HERE. Anne’s blog posts are very inspiring if you are a gardener or an artist. She is always focused on JOY and how to find it in your day. She also talks about the GRATITUDE that she looks for in her life.

Laura Bray has also been inspiring with her blog and how she dissolved her business to focus on writing. I can’t wait to read whatever she writes. I am hoping Laura will write her cookbook soon. She has some beautiful prose and touching personal essays on her blog. Laura also promotes being grateful for her life with all that it holds, as her daughter will soon be going off to college and Laura and her husband will be empty nesters.

Lori Roberts with Little Truth Studio is another artist, gardener, cook, and more. I can’t wait to get her blog. She has such insight and ideas as to how to do things in gardening, cooking, or making art. Lori creates watercolors with quotes on greeting cards, posters, and stickers and also has guided journals, “Choose Hope – Take Action'” and “A Life of Gratitude.” If you need some direction as you move into the new year, weather you are in mid-life or not, “The Unfolding Journal to Explore Mid-life With Purpose and Passion” is a favorite of mine. As you can see, Lori is about giving gratitude in many ways.

Take a look at these artists and writers for inspiration in your life.

I’m sending much gratitude and joy to you all in the new year.
